    Dear colleague

I am writing to call for nominations for the Chair of the ANZ Higher Education User Group (HEUG) for a two-year term from November 2018 to 31 October 2020. I attach a nomination form you can use for this purpose, along with a copy of our Charter. Return your nomination form to c.mcgrath@griffith.edu.au<mailto:c.mcgrath@griffith.edu.au>.

The closing date for nominations will be close-of-business on Monday 5 November 2018.

Mark Erickson, University of Queensland, was elected to this position to 31 October 2018. A nomination and election process is therefore required this year according to the Charter.

    ELECTION PROCESS

If I receive more than one nomination for the position I will hold a ballot. I will then invite nominees to provide a written statement (if this has not already been provided) to explain what they could offer to the ANZ HEUG and will circulate these to all members. Voting will then open for two weeks using a confidential online poll. Each member institution will have two votes through members of the Executive Forum.

    ABOUT THE ROLE OF CHAIR:

The role offers the opportunity to engage with ORACLE and senior staff from Universities at a national and global level. This allows you to directly represent and assert influence on behalf of ANZ members.

As ANZ Chair and President, you are entitled to a seat on the Board of the HEUG based in the US which is both personally and professionally rewarding.

If you nominate and are successful you will need to be able to commit to the following:

    * Three 'in person' Board meetings in the US each year (one at the Alliance conference)
    * Monthly teleconference Board meetings (usually 6am AEST)
    * Monthly teleconference calls as a Board sponsor to one of the Advisory Groups (AGs) (also 6am AEST)
    * Quarterly teleconference calls with the ANZ HEUG Executive team
    * As Conference Chair, attendance at the Alliance Down Under conference planning meeting (usually 1 or 2 days early in the year)
    * Numerous (6 to 10) Alliance Down Under conference planning tele-conferences (usually 9am AEST)
    * Organisation and chairing of the ANZ HEUG Executive Forum at the Alliance Down Under conference plus the mini conference which is usually held in the first half of the year
    * Attendance at the Asia Pacific Oracle User Community meeting

More information is available in the attached charter.

    FURTHER INFORMATION
