  • 1.  Info Sharing Request - Peoplesoft HCM 9.2 Time & Labor for Casual Staff

    Posted 06-08-2020 07:17 PM
    Hello,

I hope you all are safe and well in these challenging times.

UNSW has kicked off a major Contingent Workforce Program to improve the end-2-end lifecycle of contingent workers, including casuals, contractors, conjoints, adjuncts, affiliates and visitors. We are particularly keen to explore the experiences of another University that has implemented Peoplesoft HCM 9.2 Time & Labor for casual staff. We are interested in understanding your experience for professional staff and also the challenges for the sessional casual academic staff in areas such as rostering and time sheeting.

Would anyone be willing to participate in a 1 hour meeting with UNSW key business stakeholders and project team members so we can get a feel for:

    * How you are using Time & Labour?
    * Any key modifications needed or you managed with minimal change to the delivered functionality
    * What functions are Self Service vs Admin Portal?
    * Ballpark duration/effort to implement
    * Anything else you can think of in terms of lessons learnt or recommendations for us?

    Thank you for your consideration.

    Regards,
    Pete Murray

    Hi Pete,

We have implemented T&L at Deakin when we went live with PeopleSoft. At the moment we only use it for casuals for processing timesheets.

I am happy to participate in the meeting and go through our experience with you.

    Regards

    Kumar

    Hi Peter,

Griffith has utilised Time & Labor for many years now, using it for processing Casual Timesheets and Fixed-term/Continuing Staff Adhoc Claims (e.g.- Overtime).

For Sessional Casual Academic Staff, we built our own Schedule functionality.

We'd be happy to join a meeting to discuss our experiences.

    Thanks,
    Dean.

    Hi Pete

UoA has been using Time and Labour for sometime now for both professional and academic casual timesheets, including the utilisation of time and labour rules for the calculation of overtime & penalty rates. We also use it for Technology Services to manage on call and overtime arrangements.

Our timesheets are all available through our self service portal with academics also submitting their own fortnightly timesheets, against academic schedules incorporated within their initial engagement. These schedules capture the courses and activities that they are performing.

More than happy to join a meeting to share our experiences with your team.

    Regards
    Jane
