Attendance automation has become one of the most important needs in educational institutions across the world, since it saves time, accurate and reliable too.

The motivation behind the smart initiative is to eliminate the manual collection of attendance, save instructor and students productive time and the time taken for report generation and other managerial decisions.

Using smart biometric devices, the underlying automation enables to record all of the necessary details about a period of interaction between students and instructors, automatically detects the student's entry in the class and marks attendance for the particular student in the respective generated attendance roaster in PeopleSoft Campus Solution.

The presentation will discuss the transactional attendance data processing and provisioning to PeopleSoft Campus Solution using application designer. The campus wide facility/space installed smart biometric devices mapping parameters through which application engine fetch respective attendance records, process and then post them in PeopleSoft Campus Solution. Design of transactional table, attendance facility and posting parameters setups, posting logs maintained for the whole process in PeopleSoft Campus Solution.

The presentation will further reveal the attendance processing events of start and finish for the class, posting of the exact time that the student is in attendance and contact minutes. Logics for attendance data posting to mark student as present, tardy, leaves early and absent in the attendance roaster of PeopleSoft Campus Solution. The presentation will also discuss the pre and post implementation challenges and resolutions.
