Even if you are familiar with the functionality, I hope to be able to help you expand how and when you use this flexible System Tool.General Outline:We will start with the administrative pages used to enter external awards manually and the process that adds them to Students’ awards. With that basic understanding, we’ll move on to discuss loading an external file: the context definition, file mapping, and the process that adds them to Students’ awards.Next, we’ll go over the SF Feed: the additional setup required, the process to draw the transactions in to the EAL staging table, and the process that adds them to Students’ awards. We’ll round out this group with a section on troubleshooting: what the various statuses mean, what can cause them, definitions of some of the most common error messages, ways to prevent some errors. The last aspect of the functionality will be Student Self-Service: the setup required to allow students to report external scholarships, what the Students see, and the process that adds them to Students’ awards. In the penultimate section of the workshop we’ll discuss various ways External Award Load can be used. The last section will be dedicated to providing attendees with links to the presentations I used to implement use of External Award Load. These presentations and files are invaluable resources stored for us at HEUG Online and I continue to use them frequently.
