Listening to feedback from faculty, the electronic CV system was developed to support faculty career initiatives. The system provides Members a 24/7 access with a dynamic repository for the storage and updating of academic career achievements, initiatives and information involving teaching, research and creative scholarly activities, and service in a single location. It creates a sustainable framework for future developments in establishing seamless processes, e.g., performance evaluation, sabbatical, promotion, etc. This complex bolt-on application is linked to various internal campus data tables and external source. This system continues to evolve as it addresses new requirements and users’ needs. It speaks to the intricacies of various processes in the university in terms of how information are collected as well as identifying gaps in the process. This project is sponsored by the Office of the Provost and a strong collaboration effort between IT and Faculty Relations, we will discuss challenges encountered in the first year of eCV, how they have been overcome, and the exciting initiatives and opportunities ahead.
