Need to stop a student or group of students from disbursing? Need to control when a disbursement occurs? What about a handy way to tell if a student is in a special group for reporting, or processing? At Florida State University’s office of Financial Aid, we use user edits for all of these reasons and more. This session will cover both the configuration of user edits, and online and batch application and resolution of user edits, as well as many of the ways that user edits can be used to assist in and augment FA processes. You will learn how user edits can be used to control the disbursement of specific item types or groups of item types, as well as specific students or groups of students, either manually (online) or in batch. We will also explore how FSU uses user edits to control the timing of early and session based disbursements. In addition I will show you how we use user edits to track students going through special processing, such as aggregate reviews, to streamline our processing and prevent duplication of work, and flag special populations of students for reporting.
