Previously, FedUni issued the following eight different types of invoices to students:• Student Contribution• Student Services and Amenities Fees• General• On Campus Tuition & Other• Offshore Tuition • Payment Plan• Partner Provider Tuition• VET FEE-HELP/VET Student LoansThe first seven were issued using the delivered billing functionality (with customised BI Publisher templates), and the last invoice type, VET FEE-HELP/VET Student Loans, is issued using a custom-built process. Our new process uses one invoice/statement template which encompasses all student transactions, including the new VET Student Loans. The invoice contains opening and overdue balances, and includes logic to advise students whether their debt will be deferred to a HELP scheme if they are eligible (and have completed the necessary Commonwealth Assistance Form, etc.).The new invoice is loaded into Self Service and sent by email as an attachment advising students that the invoice is available.Benefits of new process to our students and our business: • Improved experience for students as they will only receive one type of invoice, which clearly outlines their fees• Less IT maintenance required with one template versus eight• Reduction in staff workloads as invoicing process will only need to be run once• Reduction in staff workload due to less queries from students
