In 2014 The University of Adelaide implemented PageUp as it's Recruitment System. Using PageUp has brought significant improvements to the front end of the recruitment process, however, significant rework is still required to generate employment contracts due to lack of validation capability. Additionally, existing staff applying for or being directly appointed into new roles are required to provide personal details, even though the information is already stored in PeopleSoft. Also attempting to integrate data between PageUp and PeopleSoft proved to be near impossible.Considering that internal movements account for over 50% of new appointments, a significant benefit (both tangible and intangible) was foreseen in automating appointments of internal staff. The AppoINT (Appointment of Internal Staff) eForm was built utilising Gideon Taylor bolt on to PeopleSoft, with integration broker used for updating of staff records. The final solution caters for appointment of existing casual, fixed-term and continuing staff into any new fixed-term or continuing position, with integration handling all potential scenarios - largely automated, with more complex scenarios triggering email to relevant teams for manual intervention.
