As universities await the full roll-out of the Oracle Cloud Student system, it is critical that they start to prepare for such a move. Cloud functionality often represents a significant change in the way institutions are used to working as the opportunities to redesign or extend Cloud solutions are more limited than they tend to be with on-premise systems, such as Peoplesoft. Effective change management will become a greater priority as universities attempt to further standardise the processing of data. We propose that universities can progress their move to the cloud by transferring their current on-premises solution to one hosted in the cloud and that universities should view this as an opportunity to prepare their processes and integrations for an eventual move to a SAAS product, by standardising processes and reviewing and removing customisations where possible. In this session, we will cover key change management issues to consider when thinking of moving to a hosted solution including:•Benefits of migration to the cloud•Considerations for transitioning to SAAS•Change management considerations•Business as usual and support structures•Change management activities
