The Univ of Pretoria's recently updated Policies call for a central electronic repository of all legal contracts entered into by the institution. UP has addressed this problem by integrating UP-developed (PeopleCode based) functionality with Oracle WebCenter - a content management repository. PeopleSoft is used to capture and maintain information about the potential, current or expired "Contractual Relationship" that UP has with 3rd parties; and to provide metadata about every electronic document that is later linked to this "Contractual Relationship" (e.g. Draft contracts, Signed contracts; Minutes of meetings, Emails, Reports, etc). The electronic documents are however not stored in PeopleSoft as attachments, but use is made of Oracle-delivered APIs' [RIDC] to store these electronic documents in a secure Content Management system [Oracle WebCenter Content]. This session will provide an overview of the design and Contract Management reporting opportunities this enables.
