The University of Birmingham has an annual income of £700m, capital expenditure of £115m, 36,000 students and around 8,000 staff. In June 2016, it launched a 3-year transformational change programme to overhaul its core HR and Finance processes to deliver continuous business improvement allowing the University to consolidate its position on the global stage. In June 2019, it went live with Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM and financials along with Worktribe for research and with document management and BI on premise, working with Version 1 as their SI. This ‘warts and all’ presentation will look at the drivers for change and will review the challenges around how Oracle Fusion can help deliver cultural change across a large British Higher Education Institution, and will discuss some of the challenges and lessons learned in the 3 years.
