The Office of the University Registrar (OUR) is responsible for maintaining and updating student records across campus. In order to best serve our constituents across campus we continually look for ways to streamline our processes. OUR at Duke University uses the delivered File Parser functionality to create a custom staging table that mass updates the Student Program/Plan. This session will demonstrate how the OUR uses the file parser process to update the program and plan fields. We will also briefly discuss other data fields that can be updated using the file parser (i.e. discontinuation and transcript text). Utilizing a mass file parser process to update the Student Program/Plan is an efficient way for our department to accurately update a large volume of records in a short amount of time.
