Utilizing a custom aid year set-up table, Emory University has significantly streamlined the maintenance of various financial aid processes by reducing the number of manual updates required each year. The use of an aid year set-up table in queries across the financial aid module has resulted in decreased errors, improved consistency, and a reduction of end user dependence upon systems staff. Additionally, by using equation engine to revise event IDs, CommGen components, and Population Updates, the annual roll forward process can now be completed in minutes versus the several days required in previous years.
