At Seneca College, we initially implemented Visual Schedule Builder (VSB) in the Summer of 2019. To meet our business requirements, we implemented a customization that restricted courses in which a student can enroll based on their Academic Requirements. We will go over this customization, as well as some lessons learned from the initial launch. For Fall 2019, the planned relaunch of VSB includes a block enrollment customization for programs which have a very strict locked in curriculum requirements. When configured, the block customization will allow students to self-enroll into a particular block of courses, but not switch between the various block offerings, while still allowing students to select elective classes or reach back to retake prior courses not part of their current block.
