Let’s put AI to work! Next time you finish a meeting, drop your transcript, notes, or even a long chat thread into your AI tool and try this prompt:

“Summarize this into clear action items, decisions made, and open questions.”

It’s a game-changer for post-meeting follow-up and keeps everyone aligned—especially when the convo gets chaotic. Have you tried something similar?

I’d love to hear what you do to make meetings more productive—whether it’s an AI trick, a personal workflow, or a favorite tool. Share your favorite recap prompt or approach below and let’s swap ideas!

    Hi Casey and everyone!

We use Zoom at UNC-Chapel Hill and we have AI Companion enabled.  It has been a huge time-saver to turn that on at the beginning of the meeting so that it actually takes the notes.  It is not perfect, but it takes me a lot less time to adjust what is incorrect than to have captured the notes myself and making them presentable for sharing!

Notes included that I find useful are:

    1.  A title, summary, date/time of the meeting.  I have, on occasion, written meeting notes only to find that I didn't title or date them, causing me some time to go back and match it up with the correct meeting.
    2.  Detailed notes of each conversation, separated by subject - This is super useful to refer to when attempting to remember what decisions were made and what the discussion and context was around those decisions.
    3. Action Items - Way Better than I have probably ever done!  It has a tendency to capture more things as action items than needed, but hey, deleting the extraneous ones is well worth having all the correct ones captured!

I would bet that it has saved me 30 - 60 minutes on all important meetings (I have anywhere from 8-15 of those per week).  The detail is much better and the wording is far better than I have probably written for any meeting minutes!    I have also been told, by meeting attendees, that it is comprehensive enough that it has kept someone from having to dig through a recording to find what they need because it was captured by the AI Companion.

    Have a great day, all!!

    Gina
