Jeffrie Brooks from the University of Michigan shared this on the FA list serve a couple of years ago and it very quickly became my absolute favorite expression. When you are joining tables where the student (or whatever your data item may be) has multiple rows of data so your sum total is multiplying by the number of rows.

You want to make sure you have the fields highlighted in yellow in the correct order, and they are your key fields for your record.

Sum totals are now correct. I have found to fix rounding issues with cents that changing the field from Number to Signed Number works.

And I've been able to accurately calculate sum totals from multiple tables with multiple rows of data with this expression. Thanks, Jeffrie!!!
