Update on CS and IPEDS Race/Ethnicity changes

For those of us in the US, much of our reporting in Higher Education is driven by IPEDS.  What is IPEDS?  The technical name is Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System.  For more information on IPEDS, please visit their home page.  Basically, IPEDS is a set of common surveys completed by Higher Education institutions that provides a comprehensive set of common data.  A recent change was made in the data values that identify race.  This is no minor change and the change is requiring modifications to the Campus Solutions product.  There is quite a bit of information available from Oracle on those modifications to CS.  First, there is MetaLink3.  After you log in, please search for Doc ID 807833.1.  Second, there is a document in the HEUG File Library that outlines the current design for these modifications.  I encourage you to check these out so that you have the latest information on this change and can start making plans for how you will integrate this change into your CS system.
