You may have noticed an increase in communications coming from HEUG lately. We have a number of new initiatives in the works and have also been keeping up with our regular communication schedule. Our goal is always to keep you informed about the great work being done all around the organization to educate our members.
At the core of our communication strategy is the monthly newsletter sent to all members. To see archived copies of the newsletter click here. We recently rolled out extended HEUG Online communications on several popular professional and social networking sites. You can read more about that in the communications blog explaing how to get connected. We have provided this service based on feedback from many of you. We think we are on the right track to provide even more ways for you to connect with other HEUG members and share information http://blog.journalistics.com/2009/how-people-share-content-on-the-web/. Many of you have taken advantage of our new education series, click here to view the schedule. As part of that we have also started free webinars on how to best utilize HEUG Online. We recently had a very well attended HEUG Online for Beginners webinar. The recording of that webinar is now available online or by clicking here.
We undertook these initiatives based on feedback from our members. Many of you completed our User Group Loyalty Survey this summer. The results of that survey were valuable to our planning process. For example, we heard from you that we need to engage our executive community. We have created a mechanism to collect executive sponsor contact information http://www.heug.org/p/gr/kc/ and will continue building our executive community over the coming months. This winter we will follow up with a full member survey to dive a little deeper into some of the results of last summer’s survey. If you are interested in working on a focus group to refine the substance of that survey, please let us know tsimpson@mica.edu.
We are also working hard on our prospective member program for Alliance 2010. This is an excellent opportunity for new and prospective members to see the value of HEUG Online and the Alliance conference firsthand. We are also currently working on our annual report, the results of which we will present at our annual business meeting at Alliance 2010 in San Antonio.
