After a year of talking about it, wishing for it and blogging, I am no longer procrastinating and the Young Professionals Organizing Committee has now been established and is holding bi-weekly meetings to get things moving. The key leaders of this group are not only dynamic leaders, they are very passionate about moving ahead with the organization. Rather than wait for me to start things, they came to me excited and asking to take over! While a few additional members will be added to the organizing committee we have commitments from the following individuals:
Sara Brennen, DePaul University, Chair
Heather Soesbe, University of Northern Iowa, Communications Chair
Renato Cayuela, University of Texas, Arlington, HEUG Board Liaison
Annie Riedinger, Boise State University, Committee Member
Greg Stanis, University of Missouri system, Committee Member
Look for information from the group in the near future. They will be soliciting ideas from all HEUG Young Professionals to get this group moving forward.
As I indicated in my early blogs, I believe this is the group that will allow the HEUG to sustain for many years to come. I am very excited to hear the initiatives this group will come up with!
