The Oracle student team has just returned from a busy, productive six days at Alliance 2018, the annual meeting of the Higher Education User Group (HEUG). This year we made a significant announcement for customers on Campus Solutions 9.0.
More than half of the institutions using Campus Solutions (CS) have completed or are in process with their upgrade from CS 9.0 to CS 9.2. Others are engaged in other strategic projects and would benefit from more time to evaluate their options. To facilitate Campus Solutions customers making a decision about their next step in the evolution of supporting their student population, Oracle announced a fee-based package to extend support on Campus Solutions 9.0 for up to two (2) years. This package will cover currently supported regulatory and legislative functionality as well as Critical (P1) bug fixes. To put this new option in perspective, the Campus Solutions 9.0 release moves into Sustaining Support in January 2020; at that point, no new regulatory or legislative updates or new bug fixes are provided to the customer. This optional package will cover those elements of support for up to two (2) years, giving the customers confidence in continuing to run the Campus Solutions 9.0 release until January 2022. As we deliver functionality in the Student Cloud to support all education models, including Continuing Ed, non-traditional, as well as traditional models, some customers may choose to move from Campus Solutions 9.0 directly to the Student Cloud. This new option for support allows them flexibility as they evaluate that choice.
More details on the specifics of this package will be forthcoming; Oracle will be providing details on pricing and availability as we move into early 2019.
