What's got your focus these days?

We just finished our Community Session for the eBusiness Suite community at the 2013 HEUG Alliance conference. And one participant - Lisa Justiniano from Harvard University - asked an excellent question. The basic gist of her question was --- for those schools that are up on release 12.1 of Oracle eBS, are you turning your attention and focus to other things? Are you implementing new modules or trying to enhance what you have, or ... ?

What a great question! We all have spent a considerable amount of energy focusing on release 12 in the last couple of years, and rightly so. But beyond upgrades and re-implementations, there's always more to be done, isn't there? More to take advantage of...

It sounded like iExpense is high on the list for several schools. Others might be working on projects that may or may not be in the Oracle sphere (and not necessarily in the eBS product suite of applications) --- like Identity Management or Imaging or Analytics or Reporting or ...

Whatever you're working on, trust me when I tell you your colleagues are interested and anxious to hear about it. We Higher Ed'rs are always keen to share and learn and find others who might be in the same boat with us (be it with two paddles and quiet calm waters or no paddles with class 4 rapids!).

So at the conference, don't be shy. Don't be afraid to mingle and find your colleagues. And if you're struggling to find that opening line, just start sharing what you're working on... I am pretty confident you'll find a captive audience somewhere.

Welcome to Indianapolis! And welcome to the eBS community - where Everything's Better Shared! :)
