As you may be fully aware, Alliance 2012 starts in Nashville in just seven days time. Obviously, a lot of work has been happening behind the scenes to ensure that you get the most out of your time there and so we thought we'd update you on what we've been organising from an EBS community front.

Foremost on our minds is how to continue the good work that has been achieved in the last year in enhancing the community aspect of the EBS Track and taking this forward at the Alliance and onwards. We’ve seen many new contributors on the EBS list serve both posing and answering questions and this has been great to see as we attract a larger number of institutions into the HEUG and EBS community. But with so many name and emails, who will you know at the Alliance? Well, there’s a number of ways to get to know more people in the EBS Community and these are:

1. Sunday 18th March - EBS Community Session 3:30 PM – I've mentioned it before and I'll mention it again (mainly because it mine). Hosted by yours truly, this is your chance to meet other members of the EBS Community, the Product Advisory Group (or PAG). If you’re a first time attendee we’ll try and give some hints and tips about how to get the most out of the Alliance and if you're a regular to the Alliance, you can share some of your knowledge on what to see and where to go.
2. Straight after the EBS Community Session is the Mix ‘n’ Mingle where all the tracks get together to ... well mix and mingle. This is the place to get to know other members of the EBS community, especially if you want to find other members with a similar set-up as the EBS PAG can usually point you in the right direction.
3. Monday 19th March – EBS Birds of a Feather 9:15 AM. If you are an EBS member this should be straight in your agenda. Michelle Lin and Todd Harrison will be talking about the EBS PAG and what it does for you as members, EBS Support levels and everything EBS.
4. Monday 19th March Evening – EBS Community Get Together – at the moment we're trying to see what we can do to put together some kind of social gathering but we'll hopefully have more details on this closer to the time - as Joe Addeo, EBS PAGs' Oracle Strategist, often says - 'Stay Tuned!'
5. Via Twitter – many of us now use twitter, and even if you don’t normally, sign up for an account just for the Alliance (www.twitter.com). As a small community, we recognise that many EBS members travel to the Alliance on their own or just a couple of people from their institution and we want to make it as easy for you to find other members of the EBS community as we can. The EBS Track twitter account (@HEUGeBS) should be running at full pelt up to and during the Alliance and we’ll keep updating with session information, things to see and where everyone is congregating. We’ll aim to tweet using the following hash tags #ebstrack but also use #heug and #alliance12 so that you can see what's going on and where. (And if you’re not coming, you can still follow us and see what you’re missing).

Members of the PAG will start to arrive in Nashville from Wednesday 14th March, so if you are arriving before the Sunday, let us know so we can include you in on any impromptu EBS community events.

If you do have any issues, problems or questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Hopefully see loads of you there.
