Last week we held our annual Academic convocation – the celebration of our past academic achievements and the beginning of a new academic year. It’s a DePaul tradition - the processional of college banners and robed faculty solemnly marching down the tree-lined streets of our Lincoln Park campus to St. Vincent’s Church is a sight to behold.   Although masked and socially distanced, this year’s event was indeed a celebration – it was the first official public gathering  at DePaul in in over a year and a half. Our Fall Convocation is a perfect time to celebrate our accomplishments: faculty promoted to tenure, staff recognition awards, and speeches from the ...

The Technical and Reporting Advisory Group (TRAG) administered a survey to the HEUG community couple of months ago on the topic of “Integrations.” We wanted to get an idea and learn from all of you what integration methods/tools our HEUG institutions have in place or plan on pursuing. We also wanted to get an idea of how institutions are pursuing their integration strategy whether that is within Peoplesoft or outside platforms.   Thank you to all those who participated in the survey. Please take a moment to view the results from our community members. Our plan is to continue this very important conversation within our TRAG community, conversations at Alliance, ...

Hi All, We are in need for a Compliance Training product.    We have been using Student Success (hosted solution), which was bought by Vector Solutions.  Now, we need to either switch to Vector Solution or explore some other vendor.  I was wondering if you have any suggestions, the vendor you are very happy with it, flexible product with good reporting tools. Thanks in advance for your time. ABOUT: Kevin Willey, executive director, enterprise technologies at Bucknell University has advice to other institutions about not letting fear hold you back. “I sensed hesitation from some of my staff about moving to the cloud and what it could mean for their day-to-day. But for the most part, they have embraced the change, and found the new role they fill to be exciting and rewarding. https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/publicsector/how-bucknell-got-40-percent-time-back-moving-erp-cloud/ by Tasha Zabohonski | on  04 JUN 2021  | “Action cannot be completed because the system is out of date.”   Every technology user understands the frustration of ...

The August coffee hour focused on “All Things Population Update”.   This was a great discussion around this very powerful tool that uses the Population Selection utility to update values in selected fields!   Check out these past presentations on populations update:              Adding fields to Pop Update using Equations Presented by Dan Labrecque            Enhanced Pop Update in 9.2 – The Good, and the Not-so-Good Presented by Vic Goldberg Important Takeaways: For enhanced pop update: The required fields in the bind record have to be in your output.  You need to change the heading text in the unique field name on the query to be ...

Alliance 2022 – A Place for Champions Are you ever watching a presentation and think, “Wow! This presenter is so good.” Or, “This person really knows their stuff.” If you are anything like me, you have and then you spend an afternoon searching through past webinars and sessions online trying to find more of the greatness you just experienced. So, what is it that makes these presenters so great? Is it their knowledge or charisma? Or both? I believe that what makes a great presenter, and dare I say champion presenter, is a combination of knowledge, personality, and engagement. Great presenters have a distinct way of sharing information in a format that ...

PeopleSoft released HCM Update Image 39 last week. I usually appreciate reviewing the Image Highlights video to see what might be interesting; there's a bit of something-for-everyone in this image, from delivering Kibana Analytics (for Benefits, Payroll for North America, and Global Payroll), to HCM Encryption Configuration (currently used for Nacha Data Security), to improved search for Fluid Time Reporter Data and Fluid Position Management, to new customizable address formatting by country. We'd love to hear which of these features you're more excited about -- and which you are planning on implementing soon! PeopleSoft has a special features video ...

Boise State's Salesforce Marketing Cloud project began this past April.  Since that time, the project team has met regularly with Boise State's Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM) and University Foundations.  While we initially cast a wide net for our first phase of implementation, we quickly realized that we would need to first focus on business use cases for these two areas. While reviewing the inventory of use cases provided by OCM and University Foundations, we noticed that the use cases for each department had strengths, opportunities, and complexities. Although the University Foundations email distribution target population and cadence of use ...

Navarro College   is a lot more than its award-winning cheer team – though its 14 National Championship trophies are hard to ignore! That plucky, fearless spirit is representative of the institution itself, a four-campus community college that annually serves around 20,000 students in the North Texas region, with a mission to empower students and provide socioeconomic uplift to its broader community. And to meet these transformative goals, it’s partnering up with Oracle.  While Navarro has its own unique identity and mission, its challenges are shared among many other community colleges: a long-outdated ERP system, a small IT shop, siloed staff and systems, ...

Since going live with our Oracle CX CRM implementation, we at UniSA have been on an evolving journey to try and consolidate and dissect the enormous volume of data being captured across our enterprise CRM.  While many SaaS CRM offerings will provide their own reporting modules, with varying levels of functionality (and complexity), to create reports for end-users that are more operational and specific to the data captured within, the challenge we are facing is an increased need for holistic reporting across the product set where we can no longer rely on the individual systems to deliver reports that will meet the needs for senior management. Primarily there ...

Greeting PCM Colleagues! As a follow-on to our discussions of Change Management, including displines like Prosci and CCMP, I got to thinking about the interactions and relationships between project and change management disciplines. At UNC-Chapel Hill, we are fortunate to have a dedicated Change Management Group to address the people side of project changes.  It is my understanding that some organizations are not so fortunately.  In my prior project management positions, I also led Change Management activities, as many PMs out there do.  That said, I feel like it is important to understand the differences and similarities across these two disciplines, especially ...
