As a Campus Solutions development shifts to its closing stages, a plan needs to be put in place to ensure successful transition to end-users. Quality delivery of learning solutions depend on an in-depth understanding of the product and its capabilities. The challenge is for the support/training team to learn, often in a short space of time, enough knowledge to train and support end-users. In our institution this is facilitated by early involvement in the project and, during the transition period, providing clear objectives through a project schedule. Training requirements become the basis of the training plan. Documentation, face-to-face learning, simulations and website resources are created based on the requirements of the stakeholders, developers, support staff and the end-users themselves. We have been using User Productivity Kit to create online simulations and written materials since 2008 and have recently moved to a newer version. The new UPK features allow us to provide additional and more varied resources. The presentation will include demonstrations of some of our UPK materials and other support/training materials. It is envisaged that the presenter and audience will conclude the session by discussing the challenges of creating training materials and transitioning new developments.
