In response to high student demand, Ryerson University piloted course wait listing in Fall 2014 and Winter 2015, using delivered functionality in PeopleSoft and a customized student communication process designed to automatically notify students if they become enrolled in a class or about enrolment issues that students can rectify.
The pilot started with only 11 courses and today there are nearly 500 courses that have wait list functionality enabled.
This session will provide insight for any institution thinking of introducing course wait listing. Learn how the basic functionality was used and how Ryerson students and academic program administrators responded to the pilot and where it is today.
