The notifications framework (NFK) is introduced "to complement and co-exist with COMMGEN". This leaves us with a big question for sending e-mails: How do they compare? or How to choose between the two? In this presentation we will start with highlighting the key differences between NFK and COMMGEN. We will subsequently present examples of the added value of NTK for sending e-mails from our own experience. We will also show some creative strategies to expand the basic NFK functionality with text building blocks, hidden variables, creating your own context and managing duplicates.Based on these experiences we can share some tools to assess whether NFK or COMMGEN would be the preferable functionality in a given situation.
