The PeopleSoft PeopleTools deployment packages (DPKs) enable you to automate a lot of the installation steps associated with deployment/installation of a new PeopleSoft Server. DPKs also allow you to customise this deployment removing a lot of the manual steps and configuration required during and after this process.

Having this in place and customised according to the institution’s requirements allows for rapid deployment of these environments to new servers from scratch.

After upgrading to PeopleTools 8.56 in 2018, UCT has started making use of DPKs. This session shares how DPKs with customised YAML files (configuration) is used at UCT as well as the benefits seen with using this.
