Change Management is a set of business practices that facilitate the human and cultural aspects of organizational change. SearchCIO defines the practice as “a systematic approach to dealing with the transition or transformation of an organization’s goals, processes or technologies. The purpose of change management is to implement strategies for effecting change, controlling change and helping people to adapt to change.”This presentation will provide an introduction to Change management, highlighting two structured frameworks; the ADKAR model and the Kotter method. The objective is to introduce attendees to these two structured models and demonstrate how they can be tailored to fit almost any change effort that will impact users. The session will help define how to construct a winning strategy using these models or hybrids of them. The presenter has used these models to help redefine IT governance in a large system, deploy enterprise system upgrades and for many small projects that have a large impact on business processes and/or users.
