The Power of Academic Advisement in Student Graduation

11-22-2016 09:42 AM

After more than 2 years of Oracle Campus Solutions implementation, BINUS successfully uses Academic Advisement to maintain different and complicated curriculum data. Academic advisement helps content staff to manage course distribution for every academic program, academic plan and requirement term. It contains every course to be taken and pre-requisite to be satisfied. For every graduation batch, graduation eligibility process is done based on academic advisement. Students who already finished their thesis and not active in current term will be verified to define their graduation eligibility.

There are 2 status generated by graduation eligibility process:
1. Eligible to Graduate (EG) - Further process can be done including print student graduation documents and maintain his/her graduation ceremony.
2. Ineligible to Graduate (IG) - No further process can be done and student will be processed again in next graduation batch.

The objective of Student Graduation module is to simplify multiple steps done in manual process. Lots of time and risks could happen with this manual process. Starting from graduation batch 55, BINUS has used this module to complete student cycle from student admission to student graduation.

In this session, the presenter will show the power of academic advisement used in graduation eligibility process. How academic advisement helps validate student graduation eligibility and the information needed in graduation documents such as graduation certificate and graduation final transcript.

Overall, this module will cover some features such as:
1. Graduation Eligibility Process
2. Print Student Graduation Documents
3. Manage Graduation Ceremony
4. Student Graduation Monitoring
