A 'stream' at UNSW is a field of study that essentially represents Academic Plans in Campus Solutions 9.0. Previously, the amount of work involved for students to nominate a Plan, i.e. students completed and submitted choices in mostly paper-based forms to the faculties for assessment, who then registered the approved Major, Minor, Specialisation, etc into the students' records in Campus Solutions back-end, was very time consuming and tedious for all involved.
Stream Declaration was built as a 'Minor Enhancement' in the UNSW student portal (myUNSW) to automate the entire process, remove the need for paper forms, and significantly decrease the manual work for staff to process Plan nomination/change applications.
