How do you comply with the latest data protection regulations while still maintaining the integrity of your data? In order to meet the new European GDPR requirements, the University of Cambridge recently undertook a project to anonymise the data for all unsuccessful applicants in Campus Solutions. In this presentation, we will answer a number of questions: * How do you decide which data to anonymise? * How can you continue to meet future statutory and management reporting requirements? * What can you do to encourage buy-in from stakeholders across the organisation? * How can projects like this inform on-going policy and planning work? * And how can you make sure that you delete what you need to... and don't delete anything that you shouldn't?! We will discuss our approach to the project, the difficulties that we encountered along the way and present the technical solution that we ultimately adopted.
