1. Overview of System Architecture
Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solution version 9.2 is implemented on cloud environment which is utilizing hosting services from Amazon Web Services. It is using Microsoft SQL server database 2014 as application database and Window Server 2012 as its operating system.
The system architecture is designed with high availability and auto scalability capabilities as well as deep security to ensure system and data security.
Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solution is implemented to use Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)’s domain account for user authentication and is integrated with Singapore Institute of Technology’s Single Sign-On (SSO) platform which is leveraging on Microsoft Active Directory Federation Service (ADFS).

2. Student Information System Processes
The Student Information System is used to support SIT’s end to end business processes in student lifecycle. The implemented PeopleSoft Campus Solution modules are consisting of Student Admissions, Student Finance, Student Scholarship, Student Financial Assistance, Student Finance, Student Matriculation, Student Record, Exam Processing, Student Appeal, Student Self Service, etc.
Generally Student Information System is implemented in four instances such as Student Information System Intranet (for staffs and faculties), Online Application and Financial Aids Application, and Student Self Service (for student).
Fluid User Interface is one of PeopleSoft Campus Solution Version 9.2 that is implemented for Online Application and Financial Aid Application (bolt-on) and student self-service.
In addition, interface functions with other academic systems and external systems such as Syllabus plus (Time Tabling System), Resource Booking System, Work Study Assessment System, Enterprise Reporting System, etc are implemented to provide an integrated and seamless information access to SIT’s staffs and students.
The presentation will share on delivered and bolt-on PeopleSoft Campus Solution functions with further highlight on Fluid User Interface Online Application and Student Self Service.

3. Project implementation challenges, approach, strategy and tips
Singapore Institute of Technology implements Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solution which is involving data conversion exercise from Old Student Information System to Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solution. The implementation is also involving user’s participation from SIT business divisions such as Admission, Registrar Office, Finance, Student Life, Global Experience, and Academic Programme Administration.
Therefore, to minimize the impact on business operations, students, staffs, faculties and to achieve smooth, seamless transition from Old Student Information System, hence the implementation is phasing into three phases based on business process cycle.
Phase one is covering admission process, Phase two is covering student matriculation process and then remaining functions are implemented in the last phases.
The implementation is impacting end to end business process in student life cycle and multi business divisions, therefore the strong project management, change management, communication and collaboration with users as process owners are a critical success factor in the project implementation. One of key challenges is to get buy-in from business users.
The presentation will share on project implementation challenges, approach, and strategy as well as project implementation tips
