To make the solution applicable for the Australian market, and to satisfy Griffith's requirements for easy tracability between IRMA and Peoplesoft in Grant ID's we needed a design that allowed for multiple sponsors per contract. We have achieved this through capturing all sponsor details at the line level, rather than header level and resulted in a number of customisations through both the contracts and awards modules. At Griffith the project chartfield is utilised only as a GL chartfield, and implementing the project costing module as per the delivered solution would have required extensive rework in other modules, as a result Griffith decided to de-couple project costing from the solution. This meant that a number of pages within the Grants solution had to be modified or replaced, namely the funding information within the award has been replaced with a custom page that has allowed us to record the funding information per sponsor. We have also begun utilising procurement contract functionality for collaborator payments, and have built a custom enquiry page designed for Finance and Clients that collates all milestone related data for a Grant from both Contracts and Award in a single view.
