The audience will be walked through the process of implementing UNE’s highly innovative and customer focused OLA system, all the way from inception to post-implementation. The presentation will also: explain some of the key technical difficulties that were faced; discuss some of the biggest ‘lessons learned’; and provide some insights into what the team is aiming for next. The presentation will be split into four (4) sections:1. Inception: How the university decided to tackle the OLA process, including its experiences with Customer Journey Mapping and the original vision for the project. 2. Development: Some of the biggest issues that the project team came across, both technical and non-technical, including de-scoping of the original project plan. This section will also provide a quick demonstration of the front- and back-end of UNE’s OLA system. 3. Implementation: The product that went live and key issues faced in the post-go live landscape. This section will cover some key lessons learned and provide an update on how the system is currently working (after two years of being operational).4. What’s next: The vision for improving UNE’s OLA system, including the peripheral admissions processes that could be incorporated into the portal (such as Advanced Standing) and technical improvements UNE would like to make.
