In this session, attendees will learn about the myriad of issues to consider when integrating disparate information systems at their institutions and in the cloud. Specific topics that will be discussed are business process redesign, inventorying of existing integrations, application and data governance, and security. Attendees will learn about various integration technologies available today and how to develop and execute upon a strategy at their institutions toward the implementation of a sustainable integration platform. In addition, attendees will learn what the HEUG Board and Technical Advisory Group (TAG) are working on to help institutions as they grapple with these issues. Lastly, attendees will learn about the path the University of Virginia (the speaker’s institution) has taken to address the data and application integration problem. They will learn what has worked well and what issues to look out for/avoid in order to be successful.
