At the Univ of Pretoria the term "Selection Progams" typically refers to those Study Programs where a limited number of places are available for new applicants (e.g. Medical Doctors), and the institution waits until the advertised closing date for applications is reached before commencing with the process to decide which students to admit. UP Management had to find a way to apply governance, oversee processes and do quality control in processing applicants in these Selection Programs/Plans.
So we designed a system to keep track of applicants - from applying, automatic consideration, being shortlisted and calculating scores to rank students. This session will give an overview of the approach and tools deployed
