PeopleSoft Cumulative Feature Overview (CFO)

Recently Tina Thorstenson, HEUG VP of Technology, blogged about a new tool Oracle has provided to help you understand the benefits in upgrading and in installing new bundles.  This is a recap of her blog.

The PeopleSoft Cumulative Feature Overview (CFO) has been upgraded.  It is a great place to start as you build a business case for an enterprise system upgrade or even to see benefits in a particular bundle.  With this tool it’s easier to understand the features and enhancements your institution might be able to leverage in a new release.   As the documentation says, “It is intended solely to help you assess the business benefits of upgrading…”  And better yet, once you find a feature you are interested in, many times there is a video where you can get even more information.

The new tool can be accessed from the PeopleSoft Information Portal www.peoplesoftinfo.com, in the breaking news section (click the link at the bottom to get to the May 16th report).  You can also find it directly at https://apexapps.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=10319:18:0.

I tested it out today and selected Campus Solutions, Student Financials and then compared a current release of 9.0--Bundle 30 to 9.0--Bundle 33.  When I generated the report, I was provided with a list of new features that included the Oracle Support Update IDs and Pre-Release Notes Doc IDs.

What a great place to get additional information to help you as you plan for upgrades and bundles.
