Season's Greetings from the President

Season’s Greetings on this first day of winter! The holidays are quickly approaching and with them comes a time to relax, spend time with loved ones and reflect on the past year. Without a doubt, it has been a year of challenges and one of the many things that I am thankful for is a community of friends and colleagues who go out of their way to assist others by volunteering their valuable time and energy. It makes the big challenges less ominous to know you are not alone. Our professional community, so cleverly called the HEUG, provided much need assistance to me and my organization this past year and I hope it did for yours as well. The combined knowledge of our community provides a level of expertise that makes no challenge appear insurmountable when we work together.

Beginning tomorrow the daylight hours will slowly begin to grow longer. I always appreciate the passing of the winter solstice because it gives me a renewed sense of energy and enthusiasm that lets me think about the coming year with optimism. A chance to make another round of New Year’s resolutions and set aspirational goals. This year one of my goals is to keep the HEUG community growing and expanding into new areas of interest. It is an exciting time for the HEUG, and I look forward to working with all of you in addressing the needs of our institutions through collaboration and volunteering.

I am grateful for all you do as a member of the HEUG community and wish you all Happy Holidays!
