    Alliance Down Under 2016
Gold Coast, GLD, Australia 9-11 November

    Hi All
    Last Chance to Register!
It's now only a week until Alliance Down Under kicks off on the Gold Coast!

The Conference Program looks terrific, showcasing the great work many of you are involved in at your institutions. If you haven't already please share it and discuss with your colleagues, and encourage them to come along and see first-hand what your peers across the ANZ region are doing. There is still a little space left for late-comers!!
Special Session with the Keynote Speaker - Steve Sammartino
As well as giving our Keynote Address on Thursday, Steve Sammartino will be hosting a very special session on Wednesday afternoon at 4.15pm, Norfolk.

    The session will be:

    * Part 1. The Art of Pitching (selling focus) How to get traction with "ideas".

    * Part 2. Innovation Rebooted: (innovation / new product / new idea generation focus) How to build Minimum Viable Products (MVP) - to test ideas, launch new products, and innovate in fast.

This is a restricted event in terms of numbers so I am inviting Conference Attendees to apply to participate. Allocation of a place in this session will be on a first-in basis. Please register your interest in this event asap by writing to academic.registrar@uq.edu.au<mailto:academic.registrar@uq.edu.au> and include your name and organisation. You will then receive a confirmation from me if successful.
Steve is one of Australia's most respected futurists and business technologists and this is an amazing opportunity to participate in an interactive session focused on start-ups and innovation. With so many of our institutions trying to enhance our industry engagement; commercialisation of our outputs; and the employability of our graduates through entrepreneurship and business incubation; this session will be incredible valuable in understanding what role universities could play.

    See you next week!!

    Cheers, Mark
