Happy New Year and welcome back to 2017. I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing break and is ready for a big year for the ANZ HEUG!
I will be circulating my report for the ADU16 Conference for you, your colleagues and supervisors, shortly. It will also be made available on HEUG Online. I think it was a very productive event for delegates, showcasing innovation and problem solving amongst your peers. With so many universities represented it's the most productive 'site visit' you can make all year!
The first big activity for 2017 is the Alliance conference in Las Vegas, 27 February-2 March, marking 20 years of the HEUG community coming together to advocate, collaborate and educate. It should be a great event! This year HEUG Board is keen to have discussions with delegates from outside of the USA to help improve the international inclusiveness of the conference and the HEUG community. Oracle would also like to host an event for us. If you or one of your colleagues is attending the Alliance conference can you please let me know at

mailto:academic.registrar@uq.edu.au> asap. I will then coordinate a time when we can get together and meet with the Board Rep over the course of the conference. I look forward to seeing ANZ well represented!
Next up will be the mini-HEUG in early June, hosted by UNSW. Details will be available soon so you can start planning.
And finally some big news on ADU17 will be out soon so stay tuned!!
In terms of other activities in 2017 the E=Quals (Digital Student Data) project will continue to gather steam and the Campus Solutions pilot sites will soon be in a position to share information and experiences that will support other HEUG members in their implementations. And of course more 9.2 upgrades will be occurring across ANZ and you can expect to see updates on our colleagues progress, celebrate go-lives and maybe respond to some requests for help as we support each other through this process.
