Dear Colleagues

I am writing to call for nominations for the roles of Deputy Chair, Secretary and Elected Member, of the ANZ Higher Education User Group (HEUG) Executive Committee for a two-year term from November 2017 to October 2019. I have attached a nomination form along with a copy of the ANZ HEUG Charter. Please return nominations to academic.registrar@uq.edu.au<mailto:academic.registrar@uq.edu.au>

The deadline for nominations will be close-of-business, Friday 3 November 2017.

The roles are currently held by:

· John Reed, UNSW, Deputy Chair

· Cathy McGrath, Griffith, Secretary

· Russell Barron, Auckland, Elected Member

All three are free to renominate for their positions.

ELECTION PROCESS:

If I receive more than one nomination for any position I will hold a ballot. Nomination forms will be circulated for the information of members. Voting will then open for two weeks using a confidential online poll. Each member institution will have one vote through their representatives in the Executive Forum. ABOUT THE ROLES:

Deputy Chair
The Deputy Chair will be responsible for assisting the Chair in conducting the affairs of the Executive, and for deputising for the Chair when absent. The Deputy Chair assists with the organisation of the annual conference of the ANZ HEUG.
Secretary
The Secretary will be responsible for notifying the Executive of meeting dates and recording, distributing and storing the record of meetings; the running of elections for the Chair; and assisting with the organisation of the annual conference of the ANZ HEUG.
Elected member
One member of the Executive Forum will normally be elected to the Executive. This member will assist the Chair and Deputy Chair in conducting the affairs of the Executive and will assist with the organisation of the annual conference of the ANZ HEUG.
