Hey, Everybody.  If you haven't already voted (and/or leave a comment) for this Ideas Lab, I'd greatly appreciate you taking a moment of your time to do so.  Thank you very much!  This drives me nuts at least once a week. Sometimes more.

PS Query - make more accessible (Ideas Lab)

If you could either add shading in the Query tab for every other row in the records. Or move the Add Criteria funnel next to the checkbox to display the field, it would be easier to line up. When the table is big, it's sometimes hard to select the correct funnel to add criteria. Moving it closer to the field name or adding shading would make it easier to grab the correct one. Thanks.

Thanks to all who voted on this.  Oracle says this is/was delivered with PeopleTools 8.63.  They added a highlight color and improved the mouseover text to better understand which attribute/row the user is interacting with.   We are on 8.60.14 so now I'm eagerly awaiting our next PT upgrade.  Woo hoo!

Congrats Dana! For old eyes like mine, every little bit helps.  This will be a real improvement to the Query Manager UI.

Also coming in tools 8.63 is another Query improvement - this update will be related to Query Security.  Users will now be able to limit access to specific queries to specific users, based on UserID, Role or Permission List.   I have not yet seen it in action, but it appears to be  similar to how Queries are setup in Fluid Workcenters, where the query has individualized security.

For Query Manger, there are also updates to Data Masking and the use of a header and footer.  Unrelated to Query, Process Scheduler will now be able to write to Microsoft Share point, and PeopleSoft will have a delivered method to write notifications to external systems like Slack.

Here are the Query Manager Updates listed in the Cumulative Features document.

    Product Feature Introduced in Version/Image
Query You can now use the Header and Footer links on the bottom of Query Manager page to include a descriptive text in the header or footer area on the Query HTML result page. Query owners can use these texts to provide additional information about the query that is run. The provided text can be a static text that is not translatable. Alternatively, you can select the message catalog option to make the text translatable. The default option is None, which would mean that there would not be any header or footer text displayed. 8.62
Query In PeopleTools 8.62, PeopleSoft Query introduces a check box on Distribution Detail dialog box to prevent empty results being sent through email from Scheduled Query page. This check box is deselected by default. This feature enables you to indicate your preference to receive no email at all when a scheduled query with email output type returns empty result set. 8.62
Query PeopleTools 8.62 enables partial masking of fields containing Personally Identifiable Information on query results when running queries through Query Manager, Query Viewer and Scheduled Query. This feature must be enabled through the Data Privacy Framework. Additionally, the Query Administration page now enables you to copy ownership of selected private queries from current user to another user. 8.62
Query PeopleSoft Query introduces a new query-level access control layer, allowing administrators to restrict access to specific queries based on user, role, or permission list. A new Query Access Control page is added to configure and manage these permissions. Queries with access restrictions are only visible and executable by authorized users, while existing queries without restrictions continue to function as before. This enhancement improves security without impacting the current query security framework. 8.63

    Tom,

Thank you for sharing. I feel like I did when I was a kid on Christmas morning!

The Header Footer links sound cool! I can't help but wonder if there will be a way to leverage these in spaces other than the HTML results page - or if they can be used to provide some additional language about how to use prompts.

The table seems to mention PT 8.62; I suspect that is meant to be 8.63, or did I miss something?
