  • 1.  PT 8.62 Query CSV Output - header row

    Posted 27 days ago

    Hello,

I recall reading that PT 8.62 would add the ability for CSV query output to include a header row. However, I haven't been able to find any documentation in PeopleBooks or anyone else describing this.
    Is this feature configurable?
    Any insight would be helpful.
    Thanks!
    Jeff

You can use transformation for that.   I'm at Alliance, but I can send you the presentation I used and what mine looks like when I get back to the office on Thursday.

I'd be interested as well, Dana.  Thank you!

I should probably clarify.  In 8.62, the CSV query output includes a file header (e.g. column names) by default.  So, my question is, does anyone know if there is a setting to toggle this new feature on/off?

Okay, so you are wanting to remove the header.   I don't know.  But, for someone wanting to use transformation, this is the presentation I used to set mine up.

This must be a configuration setting, because the headers have always appeared for me, when I run to TXT (which has the CSV file extension). I have never not seen headers, before and after 8.62.

Thought I would ask Google AI....  Two similar tries... here's what I got (summarized: "No" along with a few workaround options):

...and the similar question with a slightly expanded "No" and same workaround options (not included)....

Headers are always there unless you create a Transformation for the query as Dana indicated.  Bear in mind that if you are using Scheduled Query within JobSets, Transformation (XFORM) will not be honored even though it is an option.
