The HEUG Board of Directors recently approved the slate of officers for the coming year. Included in this approval was a new position moving forward of President-elect. In February the board approved by-law changes that changed the term of the office of President to a two year term and for the election of a President-elect for the second year of a President's term. It was felt by the HEUG Board that early knowledge of who would be filling the President role would allow for a smooth transition as well as a period of time to gain additional experience at that level.
Jane Broad, University of Glasgow, HEUG President-elect
I am pleased to announce that Jane Broad from the University of Glasgow was elected as the first HEUG President-elect during this year's Alliance Conference Board of Director's meeting. In her second term on the board, Jane took on the Vice President of Product role and has effectively led the advisory groups during a time of evolution and change. Jane will serve as the President-elect until the Annual Business meeting at the 2017 Alliance Conference where she will then become the HEUG President for a two year term.
Also, two appointments were made during the meeting that included a re-appointment of Scott Munson from the University of Colorado to a second year, and the Board approved the recommendation of President Mario Berry to add Sam Shunk from the University of Miami, the Chairperson for the Young Professionals Group (YPG) as an appointed board member.
Other officers for the coming year include:
- Steve Hahn, University of Wisconsin, Madison, Past-President
- Dan Youngblood, Indiana University, Vice President Finance/Treasurer
