Gender Identity in Higher Education by EDUCAUSE

The EDUCAUSE Gender Identity and Preferred Names Working Group has published a paper titled "Gender Identity in Higher Education: Recommendation for Campus Information Systems".  The working group included representatives from a variety of higher education institutions, many of which are HEUG members, and from vendor partners. The paper was introduced on April 12th at an EDUCAUSE E-Live event. Like the paper itself, the recording is available to EDUCAUSE members.

The paper recommends modern identity specifications for campus information systems that can be used to properly and respectfully handle the gender identities, pronouns, and preferred names of students, faculty, and staff in ERP systems at our institutions.

This is a great read so if you are an EDUCAUSE member, I recommend you check it out!
