Attention PeopleSoft HCM Position Management Users,

We need your help encouraging Oracle to add an “effective sequence” within PeopleSoft’s Position Management.  This frustration has been discussed for many years as far back as Feb 2005!; among power users, and a renewed effort might push this enhancement out of Oracle’s dreaded “15 - Enhancement Request Internal Review” status.

Please consider doing the following:

1)[20 seconds] …. Go to HEUG Enhancement Tracker*at and “up-vote” this enhancement request.

a.Click this link: http://www.heug.org/p/is/vi/iid=2542&type=10
b.Scroll down to the “Statistics” section and enter your vote of “Priority 1 – High”
c.Why do this? It helps indicate to our PAG representatives that this enhancement is important to us – and will encourage the HR PAG to advocate for this change.

* = Not a Member of Oracle’s Higher Education User Group? Open an enhancement tracker request with your own industry specific Product User Group, like

•OHUG (Oracle HCM User Group)

•HIUG (Healthcare Industry User Group)

•PSUG (Public Sector User Group)

2)[2 ¼ minutes] … Create a Service Request with Oracle* at https://support.oracle.com and copy/paste the following information:

a.Problem Summary: “Enhancement Request: Voicing Support for Enhancement/Bug 20920818 - Add Effective Sequence To Position Data”

b.Problem Description: “I am voicing support for Enhancement Request/ Bug# 11259363 to provide multi-sequenced functionality in Position Management.

The inability to sequence on Position Data has been an on-going issue for many years. This inability is commonly discussed among position management power users, especially with clients that have shared governance structures such as higher education, government, and healthcare. The inability to reflect all these changes on position data is a recurring stress point, and could be fixed by implementing a sequence number within position management. A common example is:

i.In February, the department wishes to change some minor funding attributes to a position effective July 1.

ii.In May, a reports to change is required to reflect a department management re-organization also effective July 1.

iii.In June, a title change is needed also effective July 1.

c.Product: PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Human Resources

d.Product Version: 9.2 (or whatever version of the product your using.)

e.Tools Version: 8.54 (or whatever version of PeopleTools you’re running.)

f.Problem Type: Workforce Administration > Position Management

g.Severity: 4

* = Don’t have the ability to open a service request with Oracle? Forward this email to someone who does within your organization! Opening an enhancement request with Oracle is free and has no cost to your institution. Also, don’t forget to mention this when speaking with any of your many, many Oracle Account representatives.

Thanks in advance for your help.
