In February 2018 the University of Glasgow upgraded to 9.2, 8.55 and in July we launched our new direct applicant form for PGT, PGR, LLL and P/T UG applications. UoG have had an online application form for a number of years but this is the first Fluid application. To build the application took several months, during which we worked with CY2.
During 2016 dissatisfaction for the direct applicant, application form was getting harder to ignore. To our delight, in 2017 a paper was shared that went on to secure a budget to allow the Functional Team in SLSD (Student Lifecycle, Support and Development) to initiate the application form redesign.
For this EMEA presentation we will talk about the development project lifecycle, requirement gathering from large and unique schools, the good and the bad in our agile development and what we’d do differently.
We will do a demonstration of the application form and discuss our UX considerations: indicating where we have features and tools that make the user experience more intuitive, and where setup allows us to better future proof our design and our maintenance.
