Community Council Election Process

Elections begin with a Call for Nominations. Nominees are considered based on institutional type, geographic representation, and functional or technical experience. HEUG members may nominate themselves or peers. Eligible nominees must have a HEUG membership in good standing and a completed HEUG profile, including a profile photo and biography.

Eligibility & Slate Review

After nominations close, each AG and CoP reviews nominees for eligibility before submitting a final slate to the N&E Committee. If a nominee is deemed ineligible, the N&E Committee consults with the AG/CoP and nominee to resolve any issues.

Voting eligibility requires subscription to at least one discussion forum related to the Advisory Group or Community of Practice.

Advisory Groups (AGs)

Vendor-Focused Communities

Advisory Groups facilitate product-focused discussions, elevate feedback to partners, and advocate for institutional success.

Communities of Practice (CoPs)

Vendor-Inclusive Communities

CoPs foster cross-platform collaboration, peer learning, and best practice sharing beyond vendor boundaries.

Terms & Service

Terms begin June 2026 and run for three years. AG and CoP members may be re-elected for an additional three-year term. Alternate members are appointed for one-year terms. Individuals may serve a maximum of seven years in any AG or CoP.
