I’ve got to be honest with you – today is probably one of my favorite days of the year at Alliance Headquarters. Everyone here at the underground lair is just buzzing with activity and energy. There are lots of people in jumpsuits walking around with clipboards and a sense of purpose. It’s really impressive - you need to see it to believe it.
Anyway, I digress. What I’m really here to talk about is our plans for total world domination the fact that we release the list of sessions and officially open registration for Alliance 2020 in beautiful Philadelphia today!
With over 350 sessions in 16 tracks, there is something for everyone at Alliance. You’ve told us many times that the best and most important thing about this conference is the high-quality session content. Looking over this list (which is absolutely golden), I think all of you in the community who submitted sessions this year have done it once again. Whether you are a technical or functional person; brand new in your role or a seasoned veteran; or interested in on-premise or cloud offerings (or both!) there is sure to be something here specifically for your eyes only.
While the sessions would be worth it just on their own, there are also so many networking opportunities throughout the event. Whether you’d like to meet with your peers over lunch, a drink, or just in the halls, there will be plenty of opportunities to catch up with old friends or learn something new from a former stranger. And, as usual, there will be plenty of food, drink, and surprises (perhaps a Casino Royale of sorts?) at the closing night event on Tuesday. I promise you that the venue will blow you away.
As I sit here in the control room at Alliance HQ, idly petting my cat Thunderball, I feel proud of the work that this group of volunteers and dedicated professionals have done to make this a one of a kind international conference. Be sure to register now and make sure you don’t miss out on a truly world-class event, because as some have said, you only live twice!
I must be off now – I’ve been told that there is a certain Mr. Bond here to visit us. I’m sure that he’ll agree that Alliance 2020 will be an event to die for.
