Editor's Note
With Fall about to make way for what is likely to prove a difficult Winter, many of us are looking at ways to keep on keeping on. This makes me think of the song by Curtis Mayfield, and specifically the lyrics:
"Continue to give, continue to live…
there's still a lot of faith and warmth and trust
When we keep on keeping on."
The TRAG, along with other advisory groups and dedicated HEUG members are doing just that. Now, on with our current news.
New TRAG members
Everybody, please welcome Suman Deekonda, Mishelle Denton and Rajani Madeti to the TRAG, and to our listserv!
International Virtual Week Success
The first ever International Virtual Week (IVW) proved to be quite the success. With participation in Latin America, Canada, Australia & New Zealand, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and almost 180 sessions and discussions, there was something for everyone. Here is what our Chairs had to say about their experience:
“It was great to connect with the international HEUG community with the inaugural International Virtual Week conference in October. Though face-to-face conferences are fantastic for both collaboration and content, in the current climate where this isn’t possible, this conference gave us the next best thing. In addition, it gave us the opportunity to experience presentations and presenters from all over the world, and to share experiences through Birds of a Feather sessions and Kick-off Coffees with participants across the globe.”
- Nikki Gaertner Eaton
“The international week has been a large success and allowed HEUG members to connect with peers and colleagues around the world. Beyond the great content presented during the week, connecting and networking with our international colleagues and exchanging ideas and experiences has been an incredible experience. “
- Longin Gogu

Look out soon for details in your inbox. Registration is now OPEN! There will be 300+ sessions with live presenter Q&A. If you want to support Alliance, please email support@alliance-conference.com.

Pivot Grid doesn't seem to work with query distinct or pivot grid count distinct
Posted By: Ivy Brent, Lead Report Developer at Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges
Pivot grids do not work properly if the underlying SQL directly uses UNION – multiple duplicate rows are being created. To avoid multiple duplicate rows creation a new view on top of the view with union statements may be created so that the view used in the pivot grid does not have any unions. Pivot grid limitations can be checked out in the peoplebooks @ https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E41509_01/pt852pbh2/eng/psbooks/tpvg/chapter.htm?File=tpvg/htm/tpvg04.htm

Has anyone ever upgraded their weblogic server version to a more recent one than the one listed in the certifications for PSTools version?
One should be updating the fifth decimal place with PSU (Patch Set Updates) so they get the latest bug and security fixes alongside the Critical Patch Update (CPU) program.

October 2020 CPU - Pre-release Announcement is out
Posted By: Mayank Mittal, Senior Peoplesoft Systems Administrator at University of Colorado
You might want to pay particular attention to the following CVE that’s addressed in this CPU.
https://cve.circl.lu/cve/CVE-2020-14882
Please note that there is another update concerning these critical CVE’s. Oracle has released a one-off patch for CVE-2020-14750, which is related to CVE-2020-14882. They can be exploited WITHOUT AUTHENTICATION (i.e. without the need for any userid or password)
Please see: https://www.oracle.com/security-alerts/alert-cve-2020-14750.html?source=:em:gbc:ie:cpo:RC_SPPT201008P00126:SEV400103856&elq_mid=177393&sh=220918241612151514261313311501050403&cmid=SPPT201008P00126
Without any compensating controls/mitigation, your systems may be at risk and should be patched as quickly as possible.
